The First Day Jitters
January 16, 2025, surely a date that will go down in my history books! Starting an internship in web development is like stepping into a world of infinite possibilities. The first day of any new role is always a mix of excitement and nervousness, but stepping into my web development internship was a whole new ballgame. Before I stepped into the office, I had a million thoughts racing through my head, Would I fit in? Would I understand the codebase? What if I couldn't complete my first task on time?
Highlights of the Day!
Meeting My Mentor
Mustering some courage, I stepped into the office and was warmly welcomed by the head of Prima Think, Padole Sir, and the Digital Marketing Executive with an assuring smile. Their friendly demeanor made me feel comfortable in this unfamiliar environment.
My Introduction to the Company
The Digital Marketing Executive, who also managed the onboarding of interns, introduced me to an app called Slack—a cloud-based messaging tool for teams to communicate and collaborate efficiently.
Later, after completing some formalities, the head and now my mentor assigned me my first task for the day: to scrape the web and collect information about Prima Think and the work they do.
Working on my First Task
My task was a presentation on Prima Think including the work they do and to
present them the information at EOD. Although it was a simple task, it required thorough research about their clients, the training programs they offer, and their overall scope of work.
What steps I followed?
- I visited all Social Media handles of Prima Think, their website, and penned down all the key points.
- I asked the Digital Marketing Executive about their current clients and the services provided, she was sweet and told me everything.
- After completing my research, it was time to present the findings. I felt a bit nervous, worrying that I might have missed some points.
- However, with the help of my bulleted notes, I managed to cover most of the important aspects.
- To my relief, my mentor appreciated my efforts and acknowledged that I had included many key points. He also added a few details I had missed, such as information about placements and other clients they had worked with.
End Note!
The main reason I created this blog here on Blogger.com is that my mentor encouraged me to write and maintain a blog as a hobby. He suggested that I use it to explore various aspects of web development while documenting my experiences.
This blog will also serve as a report of the upcoming projects I will be working on in the future. Hence the moniker "Web Intern Tales" was born—capturing my journey as a Web Development Intern at Prima Think.
Stay tuned for new blog posts as I share my experiences and learnings!
